Laurena Chen

Occupational Therapist

Laurena Chen specializes in School-Based Occupational Therapy and has experience working with children age 3 to 19 years old, as well as college students, with different learning styles. She completed her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California in the US, is an Ayres Sensory Integration® practitioner, and is certified by USC/WPS SIPT. She is trained in Therapeutic Listening®, Handwriting without Tears®, and The Alert Program®.

Laurena has worked in a variety of educational settings, including early intervention, private practice, public schools, and international schools, including English School Foundation (ESF) and Hong Kong Academy (HKA). She also consulted and provided teacher training at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia, and has extensive knowledge in lifestyle redesign.

Laurena is a firm believer of neurodiversity and has a deep passion for consulting and coaching, as well as working with families and individuals struggling in school.  She believes that all children are born with their own set of strengths and talents. It is her mission to help identity these gifts and support parents and students to feel empowered in the process. It takes just one person in a child’s life - a parent, teacher, or mentor - to help cultivate their strengths, provide inspiration, and guide them to find success and fulfilment in life.

Laurena currently dedicates most of her time to teacher training and private 1:1 or team consultations, as well as parental support and coaching.
