Lianne Lim

Counselor

Lianne Lim is a registered counselor with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults in counseling centers, NGOs, and schools in Hong Kong. She most recently worked as a school counselor at Victoria Shanghai Academy and The ISF Academy.

Lianne grew up attending international schools in Taiwan and continued her education in the US and Australia. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Tufts University in the US with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology. She has a Master of Commerce from the University of New South Wales in Australia and a Master of Counseling from Monash University in Australia.

Before pursuing her passion for counseling, Lianne worked as an investment banker in New York, Sydney, and Hong Kong. With her international and bilingual background, Lianne understands the dynamics of multinational, multicultural, and third culture individuals and families.

Lianne helps individuals and families experiencing adjustment, anxiety, depression, grief, learning/behavior, interpersonal, and intergenerational issues. She utilizes evidence-based ACT, CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to help clients develop insights, self-compassion, connection with others, and problem-solving skills to reach resolutions and experience greater well-being. She is a registered counselor of the Asian Professional Counselling & Psychology Association and a registered member of The Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association.

Lianne is certified in parenting coordination and supports separated, divorced, or high-conflict parents to minimize trauma for their families. She works jointly with parents to develop strategies to meet their children's needs and ensure their well-being.

Through Lianne’s own journey with child loss and fertility treatments, she also provides empathic counseling sessions for individuals and families experiencing struggles while trying to grow their families. Lianne is an experienced foster parent and offers individual and group support for foster and adoptive families. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.
